Biography

I am programme director of Resolution, and tutor at the DAS Graduate School and ArtEZ.

Previously, from 2014 - 2017, I was artistic director of Lighthouse in Brighton, where some of my favourite moments were founding the club night Progress Bar, hosting Girls Get Digital, commissioning The Sprawl by Metahaven, working with Finland, making the exhibition A Screaming Comes Across The Sky, and signing Elijah as associate-artistic director.

In 2014, in collaboration with Valentijn Bijvanck, I made the exhibiton Undertones at Marres in Maastricht.

In 2013, I made the Dread exhibition at De Hallen Haarlem, and published the book Dread — The dizziness of freedom.

From 2013 - 2020, I was a member of the programme team of Sonic Acts, an interdisciplinary arts festival in Amsterdam.

In 2011 and 2012, with Michiel van Iersel, I made the exhibitions Hear it! and Hear it! 2, at the Stedelijk Museum and Trouw.

In 2009, with Michiel van Iersel I co-founded De Verdieping, the cultural basement of club Trouw, and was its co-artistic director until 2011.

Between 2006 - 2013, I organised, according to artistic director Huub van Riel, a "series that isn't a series" of electronic music performances at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.

Part of this series were the Beat Dimensions events, in organised with Cinnaman in 2008 and 2009, with artists such as Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Dimlite and Mike Slott.

From 2006 - 2008, I was a programmer of electronic music at Lantaren/Venster in Rotterdam. Here, in collaboration with artistic director Kadir Selçuk, I organised a series of performances by Philip Jeck, Icarus, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Lou Rhodes, Soweto Kinch, Anna Ternheim, Fennesz, Vladislav Delay and Raz Mesinai.

As DJ and founder of Viral Radio, I have been fortunate to perform at festivals, clubs, theatres and museums across Europe for more than 20 years.
